Ora Katherine "Kay" Cochran age 82, passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 at Norton Community Hospital, Norton, Virginia.  She was born in Clintwood to the late Bluford and Queenie Mullins. She was a loving mother and friend to many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, five sisters, first husband, Johnny Tipton and second husband, John Cochran.

Survivors include three sons, Cecil Tipton of Lebanon, Virginia, Andrew Tipton and Missy of Danville, Virginia and Jeffery Tipton of Clintwood; one daughter, Jennifer Mullins of Clintwood; her sister, Faye Parrigan and Archie of Clintwood; grandchildren, Christopher Mullins, Lucas Hess, Drew Tipton, Chloe Tipton, Hayden Tipton and Erica Tipton; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, January 19 ^th , from 6 pm until 8 pm at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 20th, 1 pm, at the funeral home, with Frank Hall officiating. Burial will follow at the Phipps Family Cemetery, Cutter Creek Road. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
