Elizabeth Kate Hawkins Gill, 71, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Dickenson County to the late Roy and Emma Huffman Hawkins. She was a retired school bus driver in Eastern Kentucky, employee of the Clintwood Food City, and a member of New Life Baptist Church.  Kate loved the Lord and all her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Gill; brothers, Roy Hawkins Jr., Bill Hawkins, Fred Hawkins, Walter Hawkins, and Rodney Hawkins.

She is survived by her daughter, Deana Lucas and husband Mark of Clintwood, VA; brother, Don Hawkins and wife Eva of Clintwood, VA; sister, Pat Sanders and husband Bill of Coeburn, VA; sisters in law, Irene Hawkins, Sally Pruitt, and Cathy Hawkins; two grandchildren, Timothy and Katelyn Adams; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Elizabeth Kate Hawkins Gill will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Don Hawkins and Bud Culbertson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hawkins Family Cemetery Longs Fork Community.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.  Receiving of friends will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM Monday, February 6, 2017 at Clintwood Funeral Home.
