Karen Elizabeth Hartsock, 44, died at the Dickenson County Medical Center, Clintwood on Monday, December 21, 2009. She was the daughter of Bob W. and Elizabeth "Libby" Baker Mullins of Clintwood. A 1983 graduate of Clintwood High School and University of Virginia at Wise. She was a former employee of the Virginia Department of Corrections, an active participant of local Multiple Sclerosis support groups and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey "Pete" Hartsock, Clintwood; her parents Bob W. and Elizabeth Mullins, Clintwood; one son, Jeffrey Ian Hartsock, and a daughter Brittany Elizabeth Hartsock of the home; her brothers, Jeffrey Scott "Gamela" Mullins, Herndon, VA; and Wesley D. Mullins, Chicago, IL; her grandmother, Jettie E. Baker, Clintwood; one nephew J.D. Mullins; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Karen E. Hartsock will be conducted Saturday evening at 7:00 PM at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bryant Owens officiating. Additional graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until the time of service at 7 PM. Pallbearers will be: Christopher "Cabbage" Mullins, Jackson Mullins, David Brent Lee, Eddie Baker, Payton Johnson, and Steven Davis. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 1:30 PM Sunday to form the procession to the Cemetery.
