Clintwood, Virginia Judy Gayle Mooney Miller, age 69, passed away Monday, April 13, 2011 at Norton Community Hospital, Norton, Virginia. Judy was a life long resident of Clintwood and was employed forty three years with the Dickenson Clinic. She had been a member of the Clintwood United Methodist Church since 1960 and taught Sunday School for many years. Judy fought a long and hard battle with Parkinson's disease. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Ross C. Miller, her parents George Denver and Georgiana Farmer Mooney, her brother, Danny Mooney and sister, Phyllis Culbertson. Survivors include three sisters; Bobbie Mullins of Manassas, Virginia, Donna Tickle and husband Allen , Rebecca Scott and husband, Harold all of Clintwood, Virginia, several nieces and a nephew. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, 11:00 AM April 15th at the Clintwood United Methodist Church with Reverend John Price and Reverend Ronnie Mutter officiating. Burial will follow at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery with Starland Fleming, Edmund "Pee-Wee" Mooney, Mark Scott, Katie Scott, Harold Scott and Richie Ramey serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Max White, Lynn Carter, Dr. Lurton Lyle, Dr. Kurtz Alderman, Brooke "Doe" Scott, and Ralph and Carolyn Cummins. Family will receive friends Thursday at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel after 5:00 PM with a song service beginning at 7:00 PM.
