Joseph Darrell Robinson "J.D." age 71, passed away Sunday December 23, 2012 at the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. He was born August 30, 1941 in Dickenson County, the son of the late Roscoe and Vannie Robinson. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Vietnam and was a retired machinery mechanic. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his sons; Joey Robinson and Shane Robinson of Johnson City, Tennessee, Tim Robinson, Coeburn, Virginia and Scotty Robinson of Pound, Virginia; one daughter Jeanine Barry of Coeburn,Virginia; his sisters, Martha Elkins and husband Hursel, Abingdon, Virginia, Pina Waters and husband Eddie, New Windsor, Maryland, Helen Solesbee and husband David, Amissville, Virginia, Judy Phipps, Clintwood, Virginia and Glenda Stanley of Coeburn, Virginia; 12 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wed. Dec. 26, 2012 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Slemp officiating. Burial will follow at the Lane Family Cemetery in the Lick Fork Community of Dickenson County. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
