Joselean Sauls Garrett died peacefully at home among loved ones on Saturday December 17, 2022.

Josie was born in Clinchco Virginia on October 25, 1933 to Luther and Stella Mae Conley Sauls.  She was a nurse at the Dickenson Clinic for many years, followed by several years as the school nurse and a PE aide at Clintwood Elementary School.  She was a member of Clintwood Baptist Church before moving to Bristol.   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tootie Garrett, sister Mary Ann Bland, and brother Hardaway Sauls.

She is survived by her daughter Terri, and son-in-law Rufus Thames.  Nieces Linda, Trenia, Christy, Charlene, Christina, Deeanna, Dana, and Dolly.  Nephews Bobby, David Ledgerwood, Freddie, Bill, and David Davis. "Heart" family, Sharon, Hazelle, Toni, Peggy, Cathy, Darlene and Carol.

The family would like to thank Dr. Emily Campbell, her nurse Kathy Tate, and Dr. William Handy for their kind care of Josie through numerous health challenges over the years.  We would also like to thank all the wonderful staff at Home Nursing Company Hospice, and Chaplain Josh Vestal, who somehow make the hardest of times somewhat easier.

A graveside service will be held 2 PM  Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Temple Hill Cemetery in Castlewood, Virginia with the Chaplain Joshua Vestal officiating.
