Johnny Curtis Ward age 42 passed away Thursday July 7, 2011 at the Grand Strand General Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC. He was a 1990 graduate of Pound High School and served his country with the US Army National Guard and a member of the American Legion. He was a coal miner with the Cumberland River Coal Company and he attended the Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his father J. Curtis Ward. He is survived by his wife Angela Ward, one son Joshua Ward, one daughter Kristen Ward all of Pound, his mother Helen Ward, Gate City, VA. 3 brothers Jonathan C. Ward, of Florida, Michael Gilliam and Daniel Burke of Pound, 5 sisters; Teresa Robinson, Gate City, VA. Vicky Brooks and Casey Hancock of Pound, Tammy Banks , Whitesburg, KY. And Donna Potter, Neon, KY. Funeral Services for Johnny C. Ward will be conducted at 1:00 Tues. July 12 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Glenn Young officiating. Burial will follow at the Gilliam Cemetery, Bold Camp section of Pound. Pallbearers will be Cody Stallard, Tim Balthis, Kris Mullins, Michael Gilliam, Daniel Burke, Cody Potter, Justin Adams and Tim Hancock. Military grave rites by Pound VFW Post 9600. The family will receive friends with vistiation from 6-8 PM at the Clintwood Funeral Home.
