Obituary

Johnnie Farrell Mullins, age 64, passed away August 11, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center after a continued battle with diabetes and heart problems. He was born on June 30, 1948 in Letcher County, Kentucky. He was the first son born to his late parents, Johnnie Franklin and Verna Mae Mullins. Farrell was disabled but had last worked at Red Onion State Prison as a Correctional Officer. Prior to that he was a coal truck driver and had worked several years for the Dickenson County Landfill. Mr. Mullins leaves to mourn his passing one son Jeffrey Darrell Mullins and wife Tina of Norton, Virginia; daughter, Farrah Nicole Blevins and husband, Joe of Clintwood; three grandchildren, Autumn Fultz, Cheyenne Nicole Blevins and Cecil Connor Blevins; two brothers, Chuck Mullins and wife Carrie of Stratton, Virginia and Larry Mullins and Vonda of Clintwood; three special aunts, Carneiga Mullins, Jettie Stanley and Von Murphy; many, many relatives and friends and a special friend and caregiver, Digger Michaels. Special gratitude to his former wife and the loving mother of his children, Carolyn Sue Edwards. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 14th, at 7:00 pm in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Tarncey Mullins officiating. Family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 pm. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home 10:30 am on Wednesday, August 15th, to proceed to the Mullins Peak Cemetery for a graveside service. Pallbearers are Jeffrey Darrell Mullins, Chuck Mullins, Larry Mullins, Digger Michaels, Aadron Peak and John Elliott Mullins. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
