John Bill Vanover age78, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026, at his residence in Hampton, Tennessee. Mr. Vanover was born in Clintwood and was a 1966 graduate of Clintwood High School. He was the son of the late Clifford Vanover and Leema Mullins.

Mr. Vanover served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Renae Vanover, grandson, Teddy Wayne Fleming and great-granddaughter, Ava Jane Hamilton.

Survivors include his wife, Coletta Jo Fleming Vanover of Hampton, Tennessee; son, Joseph Wayne Fleming of Boone, North Carolina; daughters, Angie Wyatt of Brandon, Florida and September Skye Fleming of Hampton, Tennessee; stepmother, Beuna Vanover of Clintwood; grandchildren, Alex Hamilton wife Morgan, of Garner, North Carolina, Charlie Hamilton of Raliegh, North Carolina and Lacy Calhoun of Pound, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Lexie and Peyton Hamilton. Chosen granddaughter Felicity (Ben) Steffey.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, July 11th, 4 pm at Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood, with Pastor Kelly Fleming officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
