John Henry Mullins age 72, Passed away Tue. January 12, 2010 at Duke Homecare and Hospice, Durham, NC. He was born November 4, 1937 in Dickenson County the son of the late Steven and Jane Shortt Mullins. He moved to Fairfax, Virginia where he worked until retirement with the Fairfax Lumber & Millwork Company. He is preceded in death by two Brothers George and Bill, along with two sisters Arlena and Arbutus. He enjoyed time with his family and watching the Washington Redskins. He is survived by his son; John H. Mullins, Jr. and wife Lisa of Stafford, VA. One daughter; Debra Riley and Bruce Edwards of Durham, NC; two brothers; Clyde Mullins of Dayton, OH. and David Mullins of Catabaw, NC.; one sister; Nina Mullins, Clintwood, VA., Five grandchildren Henry Mullins, III., Billy Mullins, Holly Riley, Krystal Riley, and Brandon Riley; two great grandchildren; Addison and Collin Riley, along with several nieces and nephews and a host other family members. Funeral services for John Henry Mullins will be conducted at 3 PM Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Clintwood Funeral Home with Rev. Manie Strouth officiating. Burial will follow at the Steven Mullins Family Cemetery Osborne Gap section of Dickenson County. Pallbearers will be John May, Henry May, Benny May, J.R. May, David Mullins, Randy Mullins, Jeff Mullins and Brian Mullins. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dewayne Lane. The family will receive friends from 2 PM till service time Friday afternoon.
