John Zander "Doc" Marrs left this earthly home for eternal life on December 14th, 2023. Born June 14th, 1942, to Charlie Marrs Sr. & Daisy Dye Marrs in Big Creek, Wv. In addition to his parents John is preceded in death by his siblings Lola Myers, Charlie Marrs Jr., & Braxton Marrs, his beloved wife of 42 years Irene Marrs, infant son John Marrs Jr., 3 grandchildren Hannah Sexton, Tanner Sisson, Omie Wright, & 1 great-grandchild Angel Sisson. Survivors include 3 Sons Michael Marrs, Charlie Marrs, Richard (Misty) Sisson, and 2 daughters Juanita Myers & Leticia Mitchell, 8 Grandchildren Robin Medina, Heather Sisson, Justina (Ryan) Sluss, Lainee (Bryan) Kennedy, Courtney (Adam) Swann, Michael Savage, Tanya DeLoach, & Ceara Sisson. Several Great-grandchildren, nieces, & nephew. John was an avid outdoorsman with a love for hunting & fishing. He spent many seasons coaching his favorite sport, football. Known as Doc on the field he showed the players what it meant to have school spirit & to love the game. John was a truck driver for many years before settling down in Southwest Virginia where he later became a carpenter & farmer. He was the kind of the man you looked up to, with a bright sense of humor & a whole lot of spunk.
