Joe Douglas Phipps age 90 passed away Sat. June 22, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side. The son of the late Robert and Edna Phipps he was born in Jenkins, KY. and lived his life in Clintwood. He was a retired coal

miner, avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, gardening, working with wood from firewood to sawmill work. He was of the Christian Faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Arland and Ray Phipps and one sister and brother in law Virgie and Charlie Killen.

Survivors include his wife, Gaynell Phipps, sons; Chris and wife Jessica, Minford, OH. and Doug Phipps and wife Becky of Clintwood, a daughter Lisa Mullins and Carl Turner, Clinchco, VA., two brothers Max Phipps, Wyandotte, MI. and Roland Phipps and Lois, Jackson, OH. a sister Joyce Beverly, Blountville, TN. Grandchildren are Courtney, Kayliegh and husband Dakota, Hanna, Chase, Sayward, Sofia and Hadlie.

A long with nieces, Nephews and host other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services for Joe Douglas Phipps will be Tue. June 25, Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Cuba Porter officiating. Burial will follow with a graveside service 12 noon Wed. June 26, 2024 at the Phipps Family Cemetery Fairview Road Clintwood. The Family will receive friends from 6 PM on Tue. Evening until service time.
