He was raised in Clintwood, however, he lived most of his adult life in Florida. Jimmy Dale returned to Clintwood about fifteen months ago, since the nursing homes in his area of Florida had been destroyed by Hurricane Michael. Many family members still live in the Clintwood area, so he chose to be near them.

Jimmy Dale attended school in Clintwood and studied welding in Wise. He worked for over twenty years for Steel City in Panama City, Florida, as a fabricator and was highly respected for his work. His greatest passion in life was his music and he was an accomplished musician, playing keyboard and guitar, singing and writing music. As the baby of the family, he was loved and spoiled and was especially close to his niece near his age, who shared his love for music. He will be greatly missed by all of us. Rest in peace baby brother. See you soon in the resurrection.
