Jimmie W. Vanover, age 77, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Heritage Hall Health Care. Mr. Vanover was a life long resident of Dickenson County. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a retired bank president. Mr. Vanover and his wife, Lydia loved to travel, visiting many countries. Mr. Vanover was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Killen Vanover, his parents Gaines and Lura Fleming Vanover and two brothers, Ed Vanover and Curtis Vanover. Survivors include two daughters; Lura Vanover and companion, Jeff Killen of Clintwood and Debbie Flick and husband Donald of Sarasota Florida, four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 19, 12:00 pm in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bryant Owens officiating. Entombment will follow at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Killen, Eric Curtis Vanover, Jeremy Cooper, Joel Cooper, John David Hayes and Chris Mullins. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Mullins, Ray Phillips, Buddy R. Fleming, Glenn Stanley and James South. Family will receive friends at 11:00 am Saturday.
