Jimmie Carroll Powers age 85 passed away Sunday September 22, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Dickenson County the son of the late Hiram and Barbara Powers, a retired surface coal miner and attended the West Main Free Will Baptist Church.  A loving husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife Wilma M. Powers of Abingdon, two sons; Jimmie Powers, Jr. and Charles A. Powers and wife Brenda all of Clintwood, VA. two daughters; Lora Reynolds and husband Mike, Abingdon, VA and Deanna Crutchfield and husband Andrew, Chesapeake, VA. two sisters Norma Large, Clintwood, VA. and Reeble Hayes, Wise, VA. seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren along with one on the way. Several nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon till 1PM Tuesday September 24, 2019 at the West Main Free Will Baptist Church 150 Fairgrounds Drive Abingdon, VA. 24210. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1PM with Pastor Willis Osborne officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Hills Memory Gardens, Abingdon, VA. Pallbearers will be Family and Friends. In lieu of flowers all contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
