Jim MacAnderson Mullins, age 81, of Coeburn, Va went home to be with the Lord on January 21st, 2025. Jim was born on December 20th, 1943 and was the son of the late Arlie Mullins and Cynthia Mullins. He was born on Caney Creek, and was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County. He was a proud member of the Lebanon Old Regular Baptist Church since March 1966 and was ordained as a minister in March 1976.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his step-mother, Ida Pearl Mullins; 6 brothers - Henry Mullins, Acie Mullins, Denver Mullins, John Mullins, Ira Mullins, and Jr Mullins; 3 sisters - Christine Mullins, Virgie Mullins, and Verdie Rose; 1 half-sister, Dorothy Buchanan; 1 Daughter, Lecia Mullins; 1 son-in-law, Mickey Bruner; 1 grandson, Billy Scott Mullins; and 2 great-grandsons - Tanner Cole Sisson and Jason Scott Mullins.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 62 years, Nevada Mullins; 2 daughters, Patricia (Roger) Bowen and Tina (Kevin) White; 4 sons, Greg (Gail) Mullins, Dale (Trish) Mullins, James (Cindy) Mullins, and Donnie (Nicole) Mullins; Daughter-in-law of 20 years, Kim Mullins; 31 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. He will be especially missed by a special grandchild, Misty "Mouse" Sisson, who served as his daily caretaker for over 12 years. He will be remembered by a host of special nieces, nephews, bonus children and grandchildren he thought of as his own. He leaves behind a special fur companion, Princess.
The family invites all who loved Jim to join us Sunday, January 26th, 2025 at the Lebanon Old Regular Baptist Church for a memorial service beginning at 5 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27th, 2025 beginning at 1 pm also at the Old Regular Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Arlie Mullins Cemetery on Bad Ridge.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Mullins, Larry Mullins, Bill Mullins, Jason Peak, Chuck Smith, John Dean Mullins, and Kevin White.
Old Regular Baptist ministers officiating will be Elder Terry O'quinn, Elder Mark Justice, Elder Jackie Yates, Elder Toy Looney, Elder Lance Looney, and Elder Jeff Owens.
