Jerry Steele age 78, passed Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at his home. He was born in Wise county, the son of the late Benny and Earlie Robinson Steele. Mr. Steele was a member of Georges Fork Freewill Baptist Church and a retired coal miner. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Steele was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife Mavis Steele of Pound, Virginia; daughters, Shandee Childress of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, Autumn Hawkins and Jerry of Cookeville, Tennessee; brothers, Mack Steele and Johnnie of Coeburn, Virginia, Wayne Steele and Sherry of  Bristol, Virginia; sisters, Dorcie Rasnick of Pound, Virginia,  Sally Heinz of Richmond, Virginia and Thelma Saunders and Benny of Radford, Virginia; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 16th, 7 pm at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Troy Belcher, Mark Stallard and Tom Slemp officiating. Visitation will begin at 5 pm until time of service.  A graveside service will be Saturday, August 17th, 1 pm at Robinson Cemetery, Robinson Hollow Road, Coeburn. Pallbearers will be Dawson Osborne, Ryan Osborne, Tanner Osborne, Scotty Rasnick, Clint Steele, Jeff Heinz and Jerry Hawkins.
