Mary Jerline Mullins Sluss was born to her parents George Dewey Mullins and Nora E. Mullins on April 8, 1923. She married Cline Sluss on February 17, 1940.  They were blessed with six children: Joyce N. Sluss Anderson, Elsie Faye Sluss Sanders, Ronald S. Sluss, Raymond C. Sluss, Paul E. Sluss and Lee C. Sluss.  She was also blessed to have 11 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by 2 brothers, George D, Mullins and Shelton Gene Mullins.

Jerline and Cline were happily married for 76 years.

One of her main hobbies included working in her flower garden, in which, she had may different varieties of flowers.

Jerline passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Norton Community Hospital after residing in Clintwood Nursing Home for over 10 years.

She was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Jim B. Mullins, Ralph Mullins and Earnest Mullins; a grandson, Ronald Sluss, II and a great grandchild, Veronica Saenz.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 11th, in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel beginning at 6 PM.  Services will be conducted at 7 PM with Darrell Milgrim officiating. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 12th, to proceed to Sluss Family Cemetery for graveside services at 2 PM.  Pallbearers will be Larry Kendrick, Jeremiah Sluss, Connie Mullins and  members of Pound River Church of the Brethren.  Honorary pallbearers are Jay Conaway, Gary Rose and Bill Rose.
