Rhoda Jane (Janie) Fleming, age 75, passed away, Sunday, July 21, 2013. Ms. Fleming was a life long resident of Dickenson County and a retiree of the Dickenson County School System. She was a member of the Valley View Freewill Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered many years at Heritage Hall and at other activities within the community. Ms. Fleming was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Elizabeth Kelly; one grandchild; three sisters; three brothers, and two nephews. Survivors include two sons, Randy Fleming and Terra Willis Fleming of Abingdon, Virginia and Freddie Fleming of Waynesboro, Virginia; three grandchildren, Brooke Fleming Watson, Leah Fleming Kilgore, and Cody Fleming; two great grandchildren, Braxton Williams and Addisyn Kilgore; two brothers, Richard Kelly of Clintwood and Sebern Kelly of Hopewell, Virginia; four sisters, Ellen Smith of Fairfax, Virginia, Roxie Anderson of Knoxville, Tennessee, Creasie Fleming and Eura Enoch of Clintwood; fifteen nieces and nine nephews;very special friends, Tennessee Kendrick and Beuna Vanover of Clintwood, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 24th, 11:00 am at the Valley View Freewill Baptist Church with Lynn Vanover and Manie Strouth officiating. Burial will follow in the Fleming Family Cemetery in Flemingtown. Pallbearers will be Freddie Fleming, Randy Fleming, Cody Fleming, Braxton Williams and Deacons of Valley View Church. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 23rd, 6:00 pm, at the church where a service will begin at 8:00 pm.
