Janice Elizabeth DelaCruz age 79, passed away Monday March 6, 2017 at the Norton Community Hospital, Norton, VA. She was the daughter of the late Burl and Amy Short.   A lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a member of Georges Fork Freewill Baptist Church. Janice enjoyed time with friends and selling Avon for many years. A loving daughter, wife, mother and sister, Janice will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernesto DelaCruz and sisters, Dinah Short and Jessie Johnson.

Survivors include; her son Chris DelaCruz and wife Mary of Clintwood; daughter Kathy DelaCruz of Clintwood; brother, Richman Short and wife Glenda of Clintwood; her sister Louella Greear, Gray, Tennessee and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Thurs. March 9, 2017 Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Lewis Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Swindall and Short Cemetery, Osborne Gap community. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM till service time.
