James C. "Doc" Caldwell age 77 passed away Feb. 24, 2026, at the Dickenson Community Hospital.  Born in Jenkins, KY. The son of the late Wesley and Edith Caldwell, he had worked for over 50 years in the metal fabrication industry welding all types of metal for Industrial, machine and construction.  He was an avid Muscle Car fan who loved the muscle car era of his time. James was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Clara Denise Sexton, 2 grandsons DJ Trammell and Trey Caldwell, a great grandchild J D Mickles. 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include sons James Carson Caldwell Jr. and wife Tammy, Coeburn, VA. Jonanthan Caldwell and wife Carrie, Sumter, SC. Dennis Wayne Caldwell and wife Melissa, Kittanning, PA. and Curtis A. Caldwell and Christie McMahon, Clintwood, VA. Grandchildren Sandra Trammell, Jasmine Caldwell, Libby Collins, Rion Caldwell, Pay Caldwel, Emily Caldwell and Logan Caldwell.

Great grandchildren are Gage Caldwell, Ensley Collins, Rylie Collins, Abby Mickles and Gracie Trammell. One sister Laura Ella Caldwell, Jacksonville, FL. The mother of his children Sandra Lee Green of Wise, VA.

A memorial service will held at a later date.
