James W. Blevins age 70 passed away Friday May 10, 2013 at the Heritage Hall Health Care of Clintwood. He was a life long resident of Dickenson County residing in the Caney Ridge community. He was the son of the late Cumbo and Pearl Hale Blevins. He was a retired coal miner working with the Pittston Coal and Alpha Natural Resources. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. James was an avid outdoorsman loving all types of hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Cecil Blevins. Survivors include his wife Paula Salyer Blevins, one son Wes Blevins and wife Debbie, New Castle, VA one daughter Susan Mullins and husband Jonathan, Clintwood, VA. one brother Lewis Blevins and wife Dorothy, Hansonville, VA. three sisters Shelby Willis and husband Bruce, Coeburn, Shirley Mullins and husband Ronald, Clintwood, and Sharon Blevins of Coeburn. Grandchildren Karrie Wills and husband Chad, Travis Blevins and Courtney, Katy Mullins and Kenzie Mullins, one great grandchild Caroline Wills. Several nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wed. May 15, 2013 at the Salyer Family Cemetery, Caney Ridge. With Pastor Gary Stanley officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday evening at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with a song service at 7 PM.
