Obituary

Laura Inez Mullins departed this life on Tuesday, June 16, 2009. She was born April 6, 1928, in Dickenson County, where she lived all of her life. She was a member of Flemingtown Freewill Baptist Church and a graduate of Bluefield Business College. She enjoyed sewing, making crafts, cooking and canning, and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Estil Clyde Willis and Margaret Looney Willis, and 2 brothers, George Childress and Elmer Childress. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Otis Mullins, whom she married December 20, 1946 in Pikeville, KY. She is also survived by three children: Freddie E. Mullins, and his wife, Karen S. Mullins, Larry Wayne Mullins, and his wife, Janet Fleming Mullins, and Gary Blaine Mullins and wife, Shelly Robinson Mullins. Grandchildren include: Freddie Elmer Mullins, and his wife, Marnie Delaney Mullins, Gregory Wayne Mullins, and wife, Crystal Ball Mullins, Gary Presley Mullins, and wife, Angela Sluss Mullins, Vanessa Inez Mullins, Laura Faye Robinson and her husband, Brad, Kimberly Darnell Mullins, and husband, Brian, and Sierra Jade Mullins. Great grandchildren include: Kaleigh Tolson, Brady Mullins, Caden Mullins, Rachel Mullins, Brant Mullins, and Anderson Robinson. She has one step grandchild, Bruce Blansett, and two step great grandchildren, Wesley Sluss and Kayla Sluss. Funeral services for Laura Inez Mullins will be conducted at 11:00 AM. Thursday, June 18, 2009 from the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Lester Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Willis Family Cemetery on George's Fork. The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM Wednesday with a song service to follow at 7:00 PM with Gospel Express Singers. Active pallbearers will be Freddie Elmer Mullins, Gregory Wayne Mullins, Gary Presley Mullins, Brad Robinson and Brian Mullins.
