Hattie Jane Ratliff, age 83, passed away, Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Ridgecrest Manor, Duffield, Virginia. Mrs. Ratliff was a former resident of Caney Ridge and Duffield and was a member of Sweet Home United Baptist Church. Mrs. Ratliff was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Carl Ratliff; parents, Cleveland and Leona Hall; two brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include three sons; Jimmy Dale Ratliff and wife Sharon of Bristol, Tennessee, Dennis Carl Ratliff and wife Brenda of Jonesville, Virginia and Anthony Stewart Ratliff and wife Michelle of Gate City, Virginia; grandchildren, Jessica Nicole Ratliff, Chantel Hall and Brittany Vanessa Ratliff; great grandchildren, Tristen Hall and Ivy Hall; and special caregiver, Shirley Smith. The family wishes to say a special thank you to Ridgecrest Manor and staff. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 9th, at 11:00 am in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Eddie Newsome officiating. Burial will follow at the Ratliff Cemetery on Caney Ridge. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Saturday, June 8th at the funeral home, with a service at 7:00 pm.
