Leslie, Michigan Haster V. Church, age 84 years old passed from this life on May 11th, 2009. He was the son of the late Elder Volley Church and Virgie Vanover Church. He was a native of Kentucky and Virginia and had lived many years in Ohio and Michigan. He was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean War, having served his country with honor receiving two bronze stars. Mr. Church was preceded in death by his father, mother, one sister, Lorene Carter one brother, Kendall Church and two sons, James Church and Kenneth Church. He was also preceded in death by his late wives, Alka Bowman Church, Donna Merz Church and Janet West Church. He is survived by two daughters; Alice Kalansiae and Freda Hutchenson and three sons; Eddie Church, Richard Church and Jim West. Other survivors include five sisters and one brother; Edna Lester, Nettie Riley, Velva Mullins, Ina Jean Hill, Sharon Mullins and Avery Church. He is also survived by five step-children; Judy Marcum, Beverly Marcum, Jim Raver, Steve Bare and Sara Ramsey. Additional survivors include twenty two grandchildren, eighteen step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
