Harvey W. Powers was born June 6, 1937 and departed this life on December 14, 2023. He lived in Dickenson County most all of his life and enjoyed being at the "homeplace". He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Powers, mother, Ina Amburgey Powers; sisters Trula Powers, Eda Bartley, Dolly Mullins, Earline Epling, and Margaret "Lear" Mullins; brothers Noel Powers and Cecil Powers; son-in-law Ronnie Owens. Harvey is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Owens, granddaughter Sophie and grandson Samuel Owens all of Bristol, VA; his brother Glenn Powers of Kingston Springs, TN and sister Loretta "Sue" Birchfield of Johnstown, PA and many nieces and nephews. Harvey was a member of the United Mine Workers. He will be greatly missed.

A private service will be held at a later date.
