Guy Fisher Duncan, 84, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015. He was born July 1, 1931 to Tivis and Rachel Duncan, and was a coal miner for many years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his son, Gregory Duncan; as well as several other family members. He is survived by his wife, Isabelle Bryan Duncan of Trammel, VA; sons, Bill Duncan and wife Donna of Trammel, VA, Thomas Duncan of Trammel, VA, Jeffery Duncan and wife Rhonda of Coeburn, VA; daughters, Rhonda Gibson and husband Wayne of Rocky Mount, VA, Rachel Lotts of Salem, VA, Darlene Sperrow of Trammel, VA and Regina Johnson of Trammel, VA; sister, Hazel Sutherland of Lebanon, VA and brother Carroll Duncan of Cleveland, VA. Guy was the proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren Billy, Crystal, Cindy, Lisa, Daniel, Michelle, Yvette, Ronnie, Scott, Heather, Amy, Amanda, Ashley, Evan, and Brian; 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Papaw Guy was loved by all who knew him. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off of his back. He battled a lot of health issues the last few years of his life. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior and was baptized in the garden tub of his home. The family will receive friends Friday, October 30th, at the Trammel Baptist Church beginning at 6:00 pm; a song service will follow at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 31st, at Noon with Larae Bowen singing and Brother Bill Knoskie bringing Gods word. Burial will follow in the Neece Family Cemetery, Bear Ridge. Greg Duncan, Brian Duncan, Billy Duncan, Chad Austin, Steven Phillips and Scott Sperrow will serve as pallbearers.
