Gregory Goins age 54, passed away Friday Nov. 2, 2012. He was the son of the late Barthel and Laura Elkins Goins. Greg was a 1975 graduate of Clintwood High School and a member of the Hamilton Chapel Church. He had a love for the outdoors and mining coal. He was blessed with a large circle of loving family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Randall Goins and a sister Avienelle Brown. Greg was a very talented drummer and singer from the 1970's and 1980's with The Honeysukle Grape Vine band, The Tomahawk Band and in the 90's he played with the Goin's On band. His 1970 Clear Ludwig drum's are still in excellent condition and one of his most prized possessions. Survivors include his wife Andi Goins, one brother; Bradley Goins and wife Dorothy, Clintwood, Virginia ; one sister, Ramona Kay Wilson and husband Scott of Hendersonville, North Carolina: his nephews, Hurchell Fleming, Michael Goins, Rusty Goins, Jim Bart Goins, Fred Goins, Randall Goins, Sonny Goins and Charlie Brown: nieces are Tanya Swedland, Laura Vonderhaar and Kara Goins. His special pet companions, Elvis, Chloe Jayne, Bo and Lucky along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Gregory Goins will be conducted at 7 PM Tuesday evening in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Cyphers officiating. Friends may call from 5 PM till service time for visitation. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM Wed. November 7, 2012 at the Elkins Family Cemetery, Georges Fork Community of Dickenson County. Pallbearers will be nephews, family members and friends. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside may meet at Clintwood Funeral Home at 12:30 PM prior to service.
