Glenna Mae Rose age 88, passed away Friday January 31, 2014 at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY. She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, a graduate of Radford College and National Business College of America. She taught school for many years at several schools in Dickenson County. She is preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Gusta Yates, Her husband Jay Mack Rose, one brother Jay Max Yates. She was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include two sons; Richie Rose and Marty Rose both of Clintwood, one special daughter Brenda Whitaker of Flint, MI. one brother Oren Yates and wife Inez of Abingdon, VA. Two sisters; Ruth Whitaker and husband Eugene of Detroit, MI. and Joyce Fish and husband Bill of Los Angeles, CA. Three grandchildren Marty Christopher Rose, Chelsea Dyan Rose and Brandon Scott Rose. She had a host of other relatives and friends along with many adopted sons. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 Saturday February 8th at the Rose-Clay Cemetery located in Caney Ridge section of Dickenson County.
