Obituary

Gene Lowell "Greasy" Hill age 79 passed away Sat. June 4, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN. He was a life long resident of Dickenson County, a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. He retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation and was a member of the Valley View Free Will Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents Willard and Bonnie Hill along with two brothers Shelton and Jackie Hill. Survivors include his wife Mavis Stanley Hill of Clintwood, one son Gene Hill, Jr. Clintwood, four daughters Patsy Dotson, Norton, VA., Peggy Mullins and husband Dennis Chapmanville, WV., Debbie White and husband Norman, Ivel, KY. And Jacqueline Sturgill and husband Randy, Pound, VA. One brother Paul Benny Hill, Clintwood, and two sisters Dorothy Mullins, Clintwood, and Hester Reed, Jefferson, Virginia. Six grandchildren Anthony White, Danyl Dotson, Bryson Dotson, Kaitlyn Mullins, Laikyn Mullins, and Hannah RaChae Sturgill. Funeral services for Gene L. Hill will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tues. June 7, 2011 at the Clintwood Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Vanover officiating. Burial will follow with Military Grave Rites at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery Main Street Clintwood. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM Monday evening at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with a song service at 7:00PM.
