Gayle Owens passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Colonial Care Retirement Center in Baton Rouge Louisiana. She was born July 27, 1939 in Bristol, Tennessee to Paul and Margaret DeArmond. She was a Pentecostal church member, loved cooking, singing in church, and a Christian for 50 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Owens. Survivors include two sons, Mark Owens and wife Earlene, and Michael Owens of Baton Rouge LA; two daughters, Dawn Muller of Baton Rouge LA; and Kim Stanley and husband Willie of Coeburn, VA; grandsons she proudly raised, Jarrett and Greg Ketchum, Stephen Norton, and Adam Stanley; Seven Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren; one brother Paul DeArmond of Denver CO; and sister, Sharon Slaughter Bristol, VA. Funeral services for Gayle Owens will be conducted Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Rachel's Chapel Freewill Baptist Church at 7:00 PM with Willie Stanley officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM until time of service . Graveside services will be conducted Monday, May 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Laurel Grove Cemetery Norton, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
