Gary Blount Lyles, Jr., age 48, passed away Friday, May, 8, 2015 at his residence. Gary was a 1985 graduate of Clintwood High School and an avid stock car racing fan. He was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith and a loving son and brother. Mr. Lyles was preceded in death by his father Gary B. Lyles, Sr.; step-father, Curtis H. Large; brother, William Les Lyles; maternal grandparents, Paris and Goldie Mullins; paternal grandparents, William and Thelma Lyles and two aunts. Survivors include his mother, Doris Jayne Stanley and step-father, Sid Stanley of Clintwood; one sister, Amy Large of Clintwood; step- grandmother, Josie Stanley of Coeburn; special cousin, Dean Harness; family friend, Bobby Coram; two aunts, Jeanette and Regina and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Kendrick officiating. Visitation will be begin at 5:00 pm. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 13th, to proceed to Phipps Memorial Cemetery for graveside services. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
