G.C. Stidham, Jr., age 70, passed away on November 11th, 2008 at his residence. He was the son of the late G. C. and Cannie Stidham, Sr. He taught at Clintwood Elementary School until his retirement and he attended the Clintwood Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Jack Spoone and Lewis Allen Hill. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Mullins Stidham and one sister, Carol Spoone of Corbin, Kentucky. Survivors include two nephews, Lester Hill (Linda) of Clintwood, Virginia and J. J. Spoone of Corbin, Kentucky and two nieces, Katherine Trent, New Bern, North Carolina and Teresa Perry (Mike) of Clintwood, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 13th, at 7:00 pm at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Allen Bonnell officiating. Visitation will be begin at 5:30 pm. Graveside services will be conducted at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens Friday, November 14th beginning at 11:00 am. Pallbearers will be friends , family and Deacons of the Church. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Clintwood Baptist Building Fund or Dickenson County Food Bank, PO Box 710, Clintwood, Virginia.
