William Fred Lilly, Jr. age 74 passed away Wed. Jan. 11, 2023 at the Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport TN. A lifelong resident of Clintwood, graduate of Clintwood High School and Wise Vocational School, He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam war. He worked Clintwood Lumber and Clintwood Sewing factory along with other jobs. He was of the Baptist Faith, loving son, husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed time with family and shortwave radio.

He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ruth Lilly.

Survivors include his wife Debbie Lilly, Clintwood, one son Michael Lilly and wife Lara, Gate City, VA. one daughter Jessica Dunford and husband Ronald of Wise, one brother Dennis Lilly, Clintwood, six grandchildren, Cameron, Olivia, Conner, Colin, Zoe and Cole, one Uncle Amos Mooney, Louisville, KY, along with cousins and many other relatives.

Funeral Services for William Fred Lilly, Jr will be conducted 6 PM Sunday Jan. 15, 2023 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Glenn Sluss officiating. Graveside services will be Monday Jan. 16, 2023 at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery at 1 PM. The family will receive friends from 5 PM till service time. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations be made to Veterans charity of choice.
