Fred H. Beverly, age 63, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Heritage Hall Health Care Center, where he was a resident for the past eight years. Mr. Beverly was a lifelong resident of Clintwood and a member of Clintwood Baptist Church. He was very helpful to the people in Clintwood and volunteered at the Dickenson County Food Bank. He also enjoyed helping at the Cumberland Times Newspaper office. He was preceded in death by his parents, Smith and Katie Rutter Beverly and eight brothers. Survivors include his wife Nina Beverly of Clintwood; three brothers, Ruben Beverly and George E. Beverly of Clintwood and Ervin Beverly of Winchester, Virginia; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 9th in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Franklin Hall officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at Noon. Burial will follow in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood. The men of Clintwood Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Vanover, Dean Vanover, Alex Shortt, David Hawkins, Scott Branham, Elijah Owens and Seth Baker.
