Franklin Kendrick, age 75, passed away Sunday, August 10th at the Heritage Hall Health Care Nursing Home. He was the son of the late Oliver and Rachel Mullins Kendrick. He was a graduate of East Tennessee State University and Union College. He was employed by the Dickenson County School System for thirty one years, first as a teacher and later as a principal. He was a member of the United States Army. Mr. Kendrick was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Rachel Mullins Kendrick and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Emma Belle Kendrick of McClure, Virginia and daughter, Sandra Ashley (James) of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. Survivors also include three brothers, Oliver Kendrick, Jr., Clintwood, Virginia, Charles Kendrick and Johnny Kendrick, Green Cove Springs, Florida, and one grandchild, Carolyn Nicole Ashley. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
