Frank Vitatoe, 60, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at his residence. He attended Haysi High School, was a retired coal miner, enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Wanda Mullins Vitatoe; one brother, one sister, and several aunts and uncles. Survivors include his wife of 42 years Shielah Vitatoe; son, Eric Vitatoe and wife Elizabeth of Dante, VA; two daughters, Cassondra Mullins and husband Jeremy of Iron Station, NC; Katrina Scott and husband Mark of Radford, VA; three brothers, Jerry Vitatoe and wife Bella of Clinchco, VA; Lawrence Vitatoe and wife Lisa of Clinchco, VA; Carl Vitatoe and wife Leta of Cookeville, TN; two sisters, Mabel Gus of Clinchco, VA; and Phyllis Lantz of Clintwood, VA; one granddaughter, Chasity Mullins; two grandsons, Eric G. Vitatoe, and Ayden Vitatoe; and special aunt, Snoda Rose. Funeral services for Frank Vitatoe will be conducted at 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Edward Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in the Presley Place Cemetery Sutherland Ridge. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 24, 2015 until time of service.
