Obituary

Frances S. Dutton, age 67, died at Heritage Hall Health Care, Big Stone Gap, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009 after a lengthy illness. She had lived most of her life in Dickenson County and was married to Avery Dutton. She was the daughter of the late Garfield and Ada Rose Stanley. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Hugh, Bobby, and Roger Stanley, a sister, Brenda Lucious, and a niece, Sheila Stanley. She was of the Baptist faith, a certified CNA, and a homemaker. She loved her animals, canning from the garden, cooking and baking, and helping those in need. Surviving is her husband Avery Dutton, Clintwood; son Teddy Dutton, Clintwood; brother Carter Stanley and wife Sue, Alexandria; sisters Zella Ramey and husband Freddie, Alexandria, Lori Leno and husband Art, California, and Linda Hamby, Georgia; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Frances S. Dutton will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 from the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with ministers Lester Mullins and James Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Sowards Cemetery on The Lake Road, Clintwood. The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM Friday at the funeral home with a song service to follow at 7:00 PM. Pallbearers will be family and friends, honorary pallbearers are Eddie Stanley and Ted Deprist.
