Floyd Thomas Mullins, age 76, passed away Monday, June 7th, 2010 at MountainView Regional Medical Center, Norton, Virginia. He was the son of the late Tom and Estelle Mullins. Mr. Mullins was a member of the Gospel Light Church. He was a graduate of Clintwood High, a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Mr. Mullins was a Veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Army serving in the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Versie Mullins of Clintwood; two daughters, Teresa Stanley and husband Delmous of Johnson City, Tennessee and Major Tamala Mullins of St. Petersburg, Florida; one sister, Elizabeth Payne of Clintwood; two grandchildren, Eric Mullins and wife Pam, Crystal Carter and husband Daryl; four Great Grandchildren, Brett and Tori Mullins and Gracie and Maxwell Carter; one niece Michelle Buchanan and one nephew, Jerome Buchanan. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 11th at 11:00 AM at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Lester Mullins, Kyle Rose and Jennings Dotson officiating. Burial will be at the Mountain Home National Cemetery at Mountain Home, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be Brett Mullins, Daryl Carter, Jerome Buchanan, Avery Dutton, Dale Carty and Eric Phipps. Family will receive friends at 4:00 PM, Thursday, June 10th with a service to begin at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Southwest Cancer Center in Norton, Virginia or the Harvest Home in Duffield, Virginia.
