Faye Rakes Farmer age 91 went to be with the Lord Thursday March 14, 2019 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, retired from the Clintwood Garment Company and of the Old Regular Baptist Faith for over 39 years with membership at Tivis Chapel Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents Beldon and Virgie Rakes, her husband Lester Farmer, a daughter Margaret Looney, a grandson Larry M. Hess along with four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her sons; Danny Hess and wife Mary and Garry Farmer and wife Trish all of Clintwood.

One sister Shirley Depriest and husband Ted of Castlewood, VA. Her grandchildren Rick Kay, Danny C. Hess, Brian Hess, Kelly Kay, Rob Gosnell and Dewayne Farmer along with 8 great grandchildren. Special thanks to caregiver and friend Jeanette Layne and Dr. Roy Deel.

Funeral Services for Faye Rakes Farmer will be conducted at 11:00 AM Sunday March 17, 2019 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Rick Mullins, Ralph Mullins, Jerry Overstreet, Larry Puckett and Steve Coleman. Burial will follow at the Rakes Cemetery on the Lake Road. Pallbearers will be family and friends.  The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM Saturday evening at Clintwood Funeral Home with a service at 7:00 PM.
