Evie Ramey, age 90, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Norton Community Hospital, Norton, Virginia. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Ramey was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Ramey, parents, Milton and Mary Dotson, two sisters, Effie Dotson and Eva Whisenhunt and one brother, Cecil Dotson. Survivors include: five sons, Junior Ramey and wife Brenda, Clintwood, Troy Ramey and wife Angela, Coy Ramey and wife Pam, all of Wise, Virginia, Ricky Ramey and wife Megan, Clintwood, and Chris Ramey, South Boston, Virginia; five daughters, Wilma Lee Moore, Bluff City, Tennessee, Larnie Elkins and husband, Clyde, Clintwood, Charlotte (Charlie) Hilton and husband Larry, Jr., Carmel Jean Davis and husband Rick all of Kingsport, Tennessee and Misty Ramey Fletcher, Clintwood; one brother, Everette Dotson; eight sisters, Estelle Bensen, Josephine Bryant, Janice Bryant, Ruth Magner, Irene Marrs, Geraldine Bryant, Ruby Stanley and Jacqueline Fleming; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 1:00 pm with David Mullins, Gary Hill and Donnie Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends at the funeral home after 6:00 pm Wednesday, February 29th, with a service beginning at 7:00 pm.
