Lucy Eveline "Evie", Vanover Dotson, age 91, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Heritage Hall Health Center. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Daisy Fleming Vanover, and a lifelong resident of Dickenson County. She was a member of Valley View Freewill Baptist Church since 1937. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Dotson, five brothers, Veldon, Bruce, Jim , Carter, and Norman Vanover and one sister, Mabel Hylton, all of Clintwood, Virginia. Survivors include two daughters, Daisy Rose, Susan Fleming and husband, Richard of Clintwood, Virginia; four grandsons, Matthew Fleming and wife Teresa and Nathan Rose, all of Wise, Virginia, James Rose of Pensacola, Florida and Michael Rose of Haysi, Virginia. Survivors also include one granddaughter , Jenny Mullins and husband Travis, great grandchildren Logan Mullins and Angel Mullins all of Clintwood, Virginia. Other survivors include two sisters, Juanita Stanley of Clintwood, Virginia and Ruth Lilly and husband Jack of Wise, Virginia; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted at the Vanover Family Cemetery on Baker Ridge Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM. with Pastor Lynn Vanover officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a memorial contribution be made to the Valley View Church Ladies Auxiliary, in memory of Mrs. Dotson.
