Evelyn Marie Phipps, of Wise, Virginia, formerly of Clintwood, passed away on March 28, 2024, at Norton Community Hospital.  Evelyn was born on April 18, 1966, to the late Henry Albert and Hazel Stanley Mullins.  Evelyn was a loving and hard-working mother and grandmother who enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.  She was a graduate of Clintwood High School and was last employed with Food City.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Sterling, Vernon, Charles, Dan, and Clyde Mullins; her sister, Betty Branham and 2 infant sisters.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Rocky Snyder Jr, her son, Jonathan Mullins (Amber) of Big Stone Gap, Virginia; daughters, Katlan Hottinger (Travis) of Wise, Virginia, and Heather (Kevin) Owens of Norton, Virginia; and her grandchildren, Jaiden and Hannah Hottinger, and Jace and Emma Vanover.  Evelyn is also survived by her brothers, Verlon Mullins (Lisa) of Ozark, Alabama, and Lester Mullins (Shirlene) of Clintwood; her sisters, Joanne McPeek (David) of Clintwood, Faye Sykes (Gary) of Clintwood, and May Mullins of Glasco, Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside services for Evelyn Marie Phipps will be held at the Powers Family Cemetery of Clintwood, Virginia on Saturday, March 30, 2024.  Lester Mullins will officiate.  Friends and family may meet at the Clintwood Funeral Home at 1:00 PM to participate in the procession to the cemetery.
