Erva Thacker Baker age 81 passed away Tuesday November 27, 2012 at the Wellmont Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap. Born in Pike County Kentucky she was a 1949 graduate of Hellier High School. She was a member of the Coal Run Church of Christ for many years and recently attending The First Christian Church of Big Stone Gap, Virginia. She is preceded in death by her parents Elijah and Clara Thacker, her husband John Baker along with several brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son Roy Baker, Big Stone Gap, Virginia, three grandchildren Scott Baker and Jasmine Baker of Big Stone Gap, Jill Baker of Alexandria, Virginia. Two great grandchildren Ean Baker and Olivia Baker. Four sisters Christine Childers, Big Rock, VA., Wanda Justice, Pikeville, KY., Betty Blankenship, Grundy, VA. and Rita Tackett of Prestonsburg, KY. Along with a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services for Erva T. Baker will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thurs. November 29, 2012 at the First Christian Church of Big Stone Gap, located at East Spring Street and Shawnee Ave. with Minister Greg Townsend officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday November 30, 2012 with Mininister Jerry Bliffen at the Anne E. Young Cemetery, Pikeville, KY. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM till service time at the First Christian Church of Big Stone Gap.
