Emma Belle Kendrick age 93, passed away Tuesday December 30, 2025, at the Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, KY.  She was born on August 20, 1932, the daughter of the late Ira and Luria Sykes Sanders in Ashcamp, Ky. She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County where she made her home in McClure, she retired from the Dickenson County School system working at Ervinton Elementary and Ervinton High School cafeteria staff. Emma was loving and caring person whose joy came from taking care of children. She was a Christian and attended  Georges Fork Old Regular Baptist Church. A loving caring grandmother who enjoyed watching Carolyn playing softball. She had love for her chocolate, rootbeer lollipops and daily walks.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Franklin Kendrick along with her siblings.

Survivors include one daughter Sandra Ashley and her husband Jim of Fuquay Varina, NC.  And a granddaughter Carolyn Ashley of Chicago, IL. Her best friend Anna Jean Hill, McClure, VA.

The family would like to extend special thanks to neighbors and friends for kindness, Anna Jean, Tam, Ronnie, Melissa and Gaye.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
