Ypsilanti, MI. Edna Burnice Church Lester age 86, passed away November 13, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Elder Vollie and Virgie Vanover Church. She is preceded in death by her first husband Lee Francis Craiger in 1983. Her second husband Ted Brooks also precedes her in death, along with two brothers Haster Church and Kendall Church, three sisters Nettie Riley, Lorene Carter and Velva Mullins. She is of the Primitive Baptist Faith and a member of the Pound Fork Church. Edna enjoyed going to church and visiting with church members, listening to Christian music, quilting, embroidery, crocheting and cooking for her children. She was always a loving and caring mother. Her children and family meant everything to her. She will truly be missed by all of us, But our loss is Heavens gain, you are now with Jesus and the angels where there is no pain, only happiness. Survivors include her husband Hoey Lester, daughter Sandra Garrett and husband James, sons; David Craiger and wife Yvonne and Dexter Craiger and wife Ann. Two sisters; Ina Gene Hill and Sharon Mullins and husband Roger. One brother Avery Church, five grandchildren Shelley White and Bill, Scot Garrett and Paula, Angie Garrett, Jason Craiger and Beth Craiger. Eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great- grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00AM Tues. November 17, 2015 at the Clintwood Funeral Home chapel with Elders officiating Roger Fuller, Noah Kim Edwards, Jim Counts, Ronnie Rose and Garnell Gilbert. Burial will follow at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery Main Street Clintwood. Pallbearers will be Family and Friends. The family will receive friends from 5- 7 PM Monday evening at the Clintwood Funeral Home with a service at 7 PM.
