Edith Faye Mullins Smith age 74 went to be safe in the arms of the Lord on Sunday May 7, 2006 at the Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tennessee. She was born March 7, 1932 in Belcher, KY. She was a loving and caring Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother as well as sister and friend whom will be sorely missed. She is preceded in death by her parents Walter Ralph and Martha Alice Owens Mullins, brothers Sgt. Ernest Randall Mullins and William Jessee Mullins. An infant son Bobby Earl Smith, infant granddaughter Jessica Nicole Alrecht, son-in-law Tommy Coleman, and gradson-in-law Michael Jesse Galbraith. Survivors include her husband James Elmer Smith of Clintwood, daughters and son-in-laws Thea and Dan Hersey, Norton, VA. Martha and Anthony Pilato, Martinsville, VA. , Renee Master Sgt. John Albrecht, Marion, AL. , son and daughter-in-law James and Lena Smith, Norton, VA., her sisters Anarae Conley, Elkorn City, KY, Wanda Kennedy, Waynesboro, VA. And Bernice Hensley, Waynesboro, VA. , brothers Kennith Mullins, Belcher, KY. And Alben Mullins, Elkorn City, KY. Grandchildren are Cassandra Smith Galbraith, Endicott, NY., Cpl. Melissa Coleman and Sgt. Anthony Hernandez, Barstow, CA. and Jennifer Weiss and Tory Collins, Pound, VA. , Great-Grandchildren are Jessimen Galbraith, Edicott, NY, and Emily Collins, Pound, VA. And a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted from the graveside at 1 PM Tuesday May 9, 2006 at the Smith Family Cemetery, Skeetrock section of Clintwood with Eulis Lee Sutherland officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday evening at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with a song service at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial contributions made to the National Kidney Foundation or the charity of choice.
