Edith Louise Rose age 89 passed away Thursday December 14, 2023 with her loving family by her side.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Ella Carlton, lifelong resident of McClure, Virginia, a member of Dyers Chapel Church and Clinchco Senior Citizens. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved gospel music, dinning out with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Billy Jack Rose, grandson Jason Rose, brothers Bobby Carlton, Kenneth Carlton and Joe Shepherd, sister Lois Carlton.

Survivors include her sons; Dennis Rose and wife Linda, Clintwood, VA. and Danny Rose of Coeburn, VA. a daughter Brenda Gregory and husband Dennis, Abingdon, VA. Sisters; Charlotte Keiran and husband Frank, Columbia TN. And June Kelly and husband Jerry, Madera, CA.  five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, sister in law Marie Shepherd, companion Ray Turner.

Funeral services for Edith Rose will be held at 1 PM Tue. December 19, 2023 Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Stidham officiating. Burial will follow at the Rose-Baker Cemetery Smith Ridge Road McClure, VA.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12 noon till service time.
