Doug Ramey, age 80, loving husband and father, went to his heavenly home on Friday, March 7th, 2025.

He was born in Clintwood, VA and was a graduate of Clintwood High School Class of 1963. Doug served in the US Army from July 1965 – June 1967 and was honorably discharged. He was employed by Levi Strauss and Co. from Nov. 1972 through his retirement in July 1997.

Doug was an avid golfer and always looked forward to his mornings at Willow Creek Golf Club with his fellow golfers. Doug cherished all the friends and co-workers he met throughout the years at Levi and all his friends on the golf course. He was so appreciative of all the support from relatives, friends and neighbors.

Doug was preceded in death by parents, Thanie and Bethana Ramey; sister, Barbara Sue Mullins; brothers, Curtis Ramey, Hollis Ramey, and Al Ray Ramey; brothers-in-law, George Isaac, Bill Isaac, and John Isaac.

Survivors include Jeanette, wife of 58 years; his only child Brad; sister, Clara Gould, Baltimore, MD; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Isaac and DeAnn Isaac, El Paso, TX; brother-in-law, Anthony Isaac, Houston, TX; and several treasured nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A private graveside service will be held at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery to honor his service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Center in Memphis, TN.
