Donnie Wayne Funk age 50 passed away Thursday Aug. 7, 2014 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee. He was a lifelong resident of Wise County, the son of the late Willard Funk, Jr. and Phyllis Barton. He was a 1982 graduate of Coeburn High School, an employee of Food Lion for over 20 years and currently working with Food City. He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents Willard and Goldie Funk, and Henry and Magdalene Barton. Survivors include his mother Phyllis Barton Johnson and Dennis Farley of Coeburn, his son Josh Funk and wife Priscilla of Norton, Virginia and daughter Danielle Funk of Wise, Virginia. One brother Willard "Dodie" Funk and wife Kathy of Coeburn, Virginia and sisters Teresa Deel and husband Greg of Coeburn, Charlotte Gruber, Castlewood, Virginia and Valerie Hale and husband Travis of Coeburn. Former wife Christine Funk of Coeburn, and three grandchildren Jossalyn Funk, Joshua Kyle Funk and Abraham Isaac Wells and a special niece Terra Hall. Funeral services for Donnie W. Funk will be held at 2 PM Sat. Aug. 9, 2014 at the Clintwood Funeral Home with R.L. Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at the Adkins Cemetery, Caney Ridge section of Coeburn. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday Aug. 8, 2014 in the Clintwood Funeral Home chapel.
